In just the last few decades, motor vehicles have gone through significant improvements in safety and efficiency. Even though vehicles today are safer than ever before, there’s really no way to guarantee the health and safety of those inside vehicles that are involved in serious motor vehicle wrecks. In the state of Georgia, it seems there are more and more fatal wrecks happening every year.
A recent head-on wreck near Sandersville claimed the life of one woman and injured a passenger. The tragic crash happened along Ga. Route 231 near McCoy Pond Road during the afternoon hours. According to reports, the driver of a sedan was traveling north on Route 231 when he crossed the centerline of the roadway. The sedan then collided head-on with a southbound car.
Tragically, authorities said the driver of the southbound car was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A passenger in the car was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. Reportedly, the driver of the sedan was also injured and taken to a hospital. Police said the driver of the sedan was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest. He is facing several serious charges, reports said.
Unfortunately, the actions of other drivers are completely unpredictable. Those in Georgia who have suffered the tragic loss of a loved one as the result of negligence in a motor vehicle wreck can take action by contacting a skilled litigator. A successful wrongful death lawsuit could provide surviving family members with much-needed compensation to help ease their pain and suffering.
