Those who live in Georgia know that heavy traffic is just something they will have to deal with every day. Driving on busy, congested roadways can undoubtedly be nerve-wracking. However, for motorcyclists, traveling in heavy traffic can be especially dangerous. Tragically, motorcycle wrecks have a greater chance of being serious or fatal since riders are totally exposed.
Recently, a hit-and-run wreck near Warner Robins resulted in two motorcyclists suffering serious injuries. The crash happened at the intersection of Moody Road and Breckenridge Drive at night. According to police reports, a motorcycle being driven by a male with a female passenger was headed north on Breckenridge when a pickup truck attempted to make a left turn onto Moody Road and pulled into the path of the motorcycle.
Reports said the driver of the motorcycle was ejected and the passenger became pinned between the motorcycle and the pickup truck. Reportedly, the vehicles caught fire but witnesses on the scene pulled the female passenger to safety. Both motorcyclists were seriously injured and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police said the driver of the pickup truck along with passengers fled the scene on foot. Police are currently seeking information about the wreck.
Motorcyclists face dangers that are not present for those in passenger vehicles. Just going for a short ride can potentially turn into a tragic wreck. Those in Georgia who are injured or suffer the loss of loved ones due to negligence in motorcycle wrecks have the right to take legal action. A lawsuit, if successful, could supply victims and families with much needed and deserved compensation.
